Productive Article Writing - 7 Quick Ways To Speed Up Your Article Writing
In article writing for the internet, quality is a must, but so is quantity. If you have excellent writing skills but you can only produce a couple of 500-word articles a day, then you can’t really be considered efficient.
If you have no problem with writing interesting articles with relevant content, but you are struggling with your speed, then this article is for you. Here are seven quick ways to help you speed up your writing:
1.) Practice writing on a daily basis. Even if you’re not working on an article marketing project, honing your writing skills through various practice exercises can help you with your speed. Give yourself topics to write on and set a deadline. Don’t cheat because if you do, you’re not doing yourself any favors.
2.) Before writing an article, you may find it helpful to list your ideas in a rough outline form. While you’re doing your research, you can jot down points you want to include in the article later on. When you do start writing, all you need to do is transform the points you listed into sentences that jive together to form a cohesive article.
3.) If you need to work on a big project, say 50 articles over a course of one week, don’t let the bulk overcome you. Divide the project into daily tasks and make it your concern to finish the assigned task at the end of each day without thinking of what you need to do for the following days.
4.) Write first, edit later. Don’t stop to check if your spelling is right or if your sentence is structurally sound. Let your thoughts flow freely. After you’ve finished writing, go over your work and edit it accordingly. This tactic saves a lot of time because it doesn’t stop your creative momentum.
5.) When writing, distance yourself from distractions such as the TV, phone, and chatty family and friends. Even when using the computer, resist the urge to procrastinate by visiting your favorite website for a while or playing one round of your favorite game. Before you know it, ‘for a while’ stretches to an hour and one round becomes ‘ten rounds.’
6.) Surround yourself with writing tools such as a dictionary, thesaurus, and a grammar book. If you have any doubts about what you’ve written, you can consult these books and see if you’ve done it right.
7.) Keep track of all your brilliant ideas by bringing a small noteBook and pen wherever you go. If, while grocery shopping, you suddenly had an idea for an opening paragraph for that article you’ve been putting off writing, stop and write down that idea. Once you get home, you can check your noteBook and implement in your writing all the sudden flashes of inspiration you had throughout the day.
