Siem Reap Transportation Choices For Visiting Angkor Wat

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I consider ‘no traffic’ to be a big part of a city’s attractions. Having experienced Manila’s traffic hell, Jakarta’s traffic’s jams, and having used to commute in traffic 2.5 hours every morning, I really really loved Siem Reap’s virtually nonexistent traffic.

But the city is so small to warrant serious traffic jams, which is why I love it even more.

Siem Reap, as many people know, is the base town for tourists who visit the ancient temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. The town is so small that you can actually explore it on foot. Not very comfortably and quickly, perhaps, But it is still doable.

Gpl Software License

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

The GNU General Public License GNU GPL or simply GPL is a copyright license for free software created by Richard Stallman of the Free Software Foundation.

The GPL was originally created by Stallman for the GNU project which was an attempt to develop a free operating system as well the associated utilities, as a complete alternative to proprietary software. Stallman developed the GPL because early versions of GNU project utilities had a separate, and mutually incompatible license, for each program, which meant that the programs could not share code.

Intellectual Property (IP) 101

IP includes patents, trademarks, and copyrights. A patent provides an exclusive right to an invention. A trademark provides an exclusive right to an indication of source of a product. A copyright provides an exclusive right to an original work. A service mark provides an exclusive right to a service or origin of a service.

United States copyrights accrue automatically, but a work must be registered with the United States Copyright Office to perfect the federal copyright. Trademark rights can also accrue without a federal registration, but those rights are weaker, and a federal registration is preferred in almost all situations.

How To Give Your Cockatiel A Balanced Diet

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Cockatiels are meant to be cared for. As an owner of a pet you know you should give the health of your Cockatiel top priority. Your pet’s health depends on its diet. In the wild, birds make do with whatever they find. For this reason, you should include a variety of things in their diet, to stay as close to their natural diet as possible

On the other hand, your Cockatiel can eat most of the things that you eat. Cockatiels mainly feed on seeds, berries, fruits, nuts and flowers. Sometimes, they can thrive on the basic diet of seeds and pellets alone. They don’t require any particular food but need “particular nutrients”. You should add more vegetables and fruits to your Cockatiel’s diet. These are sources of additional nutrition.

What Is Cybersquatting And What Can Be Done About It? Acpa Or Udrp?

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Have you ever had a third party register a domain name that is either exactly the same or very similar to your trademark? If so, it may be a Cybersquatting issue. Cybersquatting is registering, trafficking in, or using a domain name with a bad-faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else. To address this issue, Congress enacted what is known as the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (”ACPA”). The ACPA amended the Lanham Act by providing trademark owners with a civil remedy against cybersquatting.

Your Elderly Loved One May Be An Abuse Victim

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Elder abuse is the term used to refer to any knowing, intentional or negligent act by a caregiver or any other person that causes harm to an elderly adult. Most of the nation’s abuse against the elderly occurs in nursing facilities and hospitals where families have entrusted the care of their elderly loved one.

The National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) periodically collects, analyzes and publishes statistics on abuse of the elderly in the United States. It is estimated that over 500,000 elderly adults are abused each year, and a shocking 84% of those abuse situations remain hidden. Some reports estimate that a startling 5 million elderly adults may be abused each year. It is very difficult to say how many older Americans are abused, neglected or exploited because surveillance of these facilities is limited and the problem remains greatly hidden.
